Enchanted Polish Octopus's Garden

Here today I have a whole bunch of shots of my latest favorite polish -  Enchanted Polish Octopus's Garden. These polishes can be a bit of a biatch to get just because they're so darn popular, but you can see why! This is a holo multi-chrome that looks different at every angle and is gobsmackingly stunning! The holo is fairly subtle in the shade, but the shift alone keeps you staring at your nails. Here I am wearing 3 thin coats topped with a coat of SV - although I have worn it since on just 2 coats fine. I love that you don't need to layer it over black either! So if you have a chance to lay your hands on one of these polishes, just do it! Don't think, just buy!
I know EP have a few stockists, but as an Aussie girl I got mine from Femme Fatale Costmetics

Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! It's been a long year filled with some extreme highs and lows, but it’s finally drawing to a close. I want to thank those who have supported me through the year, and especially my poor husband who has had to put up with months and months of comfort polish buying and constantly stinking out the apartment!
So today I’ve got two Christmas manis that I’ve worn to work this week – the first is an Ulta 3 red that came in one of the valentines packs with a fimo candy cane feature nail, and the other is L’Oreal Green Couture with a dotticure Christmas tree with a star glitter topper.  The funny thing about that one was the hubby suggesting that I do it, and I was arguing that I don’t actually own any green nail polish. I have a LOT of polish, but green is my least favourite colour so I ever buy any. So to make a point, he gets me to go through what I own and find any greens…. And then this happened. Turns out I manage to accumulate more than I think!

Anyway, have a great holiday everyone and I hope you all get loads of polish for Christmas ;)

Femme Fatale A Frosty Shake

Yay there's only a week and a half left until Christmas (and 5 working days woo!). I've been incredibly slack this year with my Christmas spirit, and haven't done much in the way of festive manis! But I'm going to be a little bit mean today and show you a special polish I got for the season that was from Femme Fatale in very limited amounts (the only downside being that the bottle I got wasn't totally full, but hey when it's this gorgeous I'm not complaining). This is a rejig of last years A Frosty Shake with the addition of teeny tiny snowflakes... aren't they super cute?! The mix is very shimmery with all kinds of white, blue and iridescent glitter. I won't lie though - those snowflakes were a PAIN to get out. No amount of shaking or keeping the bottle upside down helped. I ended up getting an orange stick to help fish them out. But hey all worth it to have tiny snowflakes on my nails! I topped it with 2 coats of SV and I have no problems with the glitter sticking up, but I am also blessed with quite large nails. Although you won't be able to buy this baby anymore, still swing by Femme Fatale Cosmetics and check out the other stunning polishes there. Or if you absolutely must have tiny snowflakes as well, the closes to this polish I've seen is KB Shimmer's Snow Much Fun.

Emily de Molly Rose Gold

Got a quickie swatch for you today - this is Emily de Molly's Rose Gold. A pretty glitter topper made up of a whole range of different shaped pink and gold glitter, including bars, hexes, squares and dots. It is super pretty. Here I'm wearing one coat over a random Ulta 3. Check it out here - it's on sale right now and trust me.. you want this!

Face of Australia Carnivale

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately... I had a death in the family and it's totally turned everything upside down. But it didn't stop me from buying too much polish, just need the time and a few extra hands to wear them all! But to get back into the swing of things, today I have 2 colours from the new Face of Australia Carnivale collection. Both are glittery textured polishes that took 2 coats for full opacity. I was actually really impressed with the quality of these considering how cheap they are - easy to apply and actually had fairly good wear time for a textured polish. I kept these on for 3 days before I decided to change, but even then they had minimal wear.
First is Ferris Wheel, a pretty shimmery teal with large pieces of glitter, and second is Masquerade which is the same thing in a lovely purple.
I bought these from Priceline, but you can also find your local stockists at the Face of Australia website.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat

I am turning into a major sucker for any textured polishes, so when I went to Priceline a few weeks back and saw these babies in a display on the counter, I had to grab a couple of colours to play with. Dang these are thick - I had to be so careful and slow when applying so they were even, but at least it only took 2 coats to reach full opacity. They also try pretty darn quick. I found they chipped after a couple of days which is faster than other textured polishes I have, but I still quite liked how they looked. The formula was exactly the same for all colours.

Cotton Candies - bright pink.

Sour Apple - pastel green

Bubble Plum - pastel purple

Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces

I've been lusting after one of the forces by Emily de Molly for ages, and finally put in an order for a whole bunch of her polishes. So here is Cosmic Forces which is just SO pretty. I just couldn't get my camera to pick up on all the sparkly goodness. It's a stunning purple jelly with holo purple circle glitter as well as smaller hexes in purple and pink. The circles took a little bit of fishing to get out, but they just look so amazing that it's worth a bit of a fiddle. Here I am wearing 2 coats with 2 coats of SV to smooth it out. Emily de Molly polishes are available here

OPI Lights of Emerald City

Another real quickie for you today (barely had time to do anything fancy lately, but there has been a lot of purchasing, so I promise I will have to catch up!). This is Lights of Emerald City from the OPI Oz the Great and Powerful collection. I have a few similar glitter toppers, but I needed this one as it is entirely square glitter with both medium white squares and iridescent small ones. The white squares took a bit of dabbing  to get them evenly on the nail, but other than that, it's quite a nice polish to use. Here I am wearing one coat over 2 coats of OPI Sweet Heart and topped with SV.

OPI Rally Pretty Pink

Seeing as while you're reading this I'll be in good ol' sunny Brisbane, I've just got an old swatch here to show you. And even though it is an old polish it is still totally one of my absolute favs. It's Rally Pretty Pink from the Serena Williams collection that OPI released back in 2011. It's a pink based polish crammed full of gold micro glitter that gives it the most amazing duo-chrome effect, and depending on the light it goes from a light shimmery gold to a deep pink. Here I am wearing 2 coats topped with a single coat of SV. If you haven't already got it (or one of the more recent dupes that have appeared) make sure you do - and even though it is an older polish, there are still plenty floating around on eBay waiting to be snaffled!

Ruby Wing Cut Grass

I’m not a normally a fan of green polish, but I bought Ruby Wing Cut Grass as it was one of the last colours left in the store and I’ve gotten a bit obsessive over them so I grabbed it! But I am glad I did – it is a really nice polish to apply and wear. It goes from a lime green in the shade to a really gorgeous forest green in the sun. Here I am wearing 2 coats which I stamped over with Cheeky CH33 from their summer collection all topped off with a coat of SV.
I bought this at Pro Nail Supplies at Bankstown, but there are plenty of sellers on eBay... although if you know of any other Aussie sellers who stock Ruby Wing please let me know!
